Ashley- that is a GREAT quote! "just so you know: shame is five fingered" is an awesome line-I think it's an excellent example of "showing not telling" because she could have said "that slap made me feel so ashamed", but to define shame as the slap like that is so powerful!
ReplyDeleteps- stains seems like a strong verb to me. She could have said "had an effect on me" but stains really has a much stronger impact.
